Kicking Ice is about two young, female hockey players, Bella and Skye, learning to play hockey and dreaming of one day playing in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL). Unfortunately, Bella and Skye deal with bullies who think that playing hockey isn’t for girls. Of course, Bella and Skye prove that kicking ice isn’t just for boys. This project is a celebration of women in sports and the amazing progress of the many pioneers who are helping to make professional women's hockey a reality.

We are very excited to announce that the Kicking Ice books will arrive at the Ominous Press headquarters this coming Monday! We will begin shipping them to backers as soon as they arrive.
If you're in the Buffalo area, you should stop by Pulp 716: Coffee & Comics in Tonawanda today (Oct. 20) from 4-8pm to meet writer Stephanie Phillips. Stephanie will be signing copies of both Kicking Ice and her recent horror series from Black Mask Studios, Devil Within.
And for those who love Halloween as much as we do, Stephanie will be in Saratoga Springs next weekend on Oct. 27 from 12-4:30pm celebrating Halloween Comic Fest at The Comic Depot: https://www.facebook.com/events/2086422611687324/

Headed to NYCC next weekend? Kicking Ice is too! Debuting for the first time, the full 112 page hardcover edition of Kicking Ice will be available for purchase. Writer Stephanie Phillips will be at the Ominous Press/Sleeping Giant booth #1804 on Friday Oct. 5 from 3-5pm signing copies.

Printing Update

I know you are all just as eager as we are to see Kicking Ice printed! The wait is coming to an end! Kicking Ice is with the printer and all pages have been individually reviewed for print. You will all be receiving over 100 pages of content. We are also preparing the digital files so that you will receive your digital copy of the book fairly soon. While the printer may take a few weeks to get the books sent our way due to the large order, we will begin shipping as soon as the books are in our possession. In the meantime, we will be wrapping up getting all of the bonus swag ready to go!
Our entire team hopes you are as excited as we are to see this book in person!

We are so excited to let you know that KICKING ICE is complete and in the final stages of editing and production. This means that the interior artwork and bonus content is complete. We are editing to ensure we used all the right words, and designing some pretty interior layouts. Ominous Press is handling printing the book and they are committed to making sure the printing is high quality. We will have physical proofs of the book to show off very soon, and then full printing will begin.
We will keep everyone updated on the progress of the physical copies. Prior to the physical shipments, you will receive digital copies of the book.
